Slay the Spire 2 Patch Notes

Slay the Spire 2 patch notes: compare the current Main v0.107.1 build with Beta v0.111.0, including controls, balance changes, and what players should use today.

Quick answer

The current lines are Main v0.107.1 and optional Beta v0.111.0. Most players should use Main; Beta is the public test branch. Major Update #2 added Aeonglass, the Bestiary, Steam Workshop support, and an RNG rework. Beta v0.111.0 adds keyboard-only controls, reworks Mirage, changes Regalite's first-creation Block from 6 to 4, and includes further balance and bug fixes. Switch branches in Steam Properties → Game Versions & Betas.

Today’s version check

Which version should you use?

Use Main unless you deliberately selected Steam’s public beta. Beta is for testing changes before they reach the default build.

Recent player-visible changes

Major Update #2 rolled several beta patches into the default build. Aeonglass replaced The Doormaker as an Act 3 boss, the Bestiary became available in the Compendium, and Steam Workshop support was added.

The optional beta keeps the earlier keyboard-only control mode and adds new card reworks, including Mirage's 1-cost-at-both-levels Exhaust behavior and Regalite's 4-Block first-creation trigger. It also adds Indonesian localization, low-HP idle animations, interface, multiplayer, enemy, event, performance, and modding fixes.

Latest patch at a glance

Use Main v0.107.1 if you did not deliberately opt into Steam's public beta. Use Beta v0.111.0 only when you want the test-branch changes; the two branches can show different card text, controls, and balance.

This page keeps the player-facing differences in one place. For exact numbers, the linked Mega Crit notes remain the source of truth, especially while Early Access updates are still moving quickly.

What changed on the Main branch

Major Update #2 rolled several beta patches into the default build. Aeonglass replaced The Doormaker as an Act 3 boss, the Bestiary became available in the Compendium, and Steam Workshop support was added.

Mega Crit also replaced the game's pseudorandom number generator after a correlated-RNG problem was documented. The update includes a larger set of balance, enemy, art, performance, multiplayer, and bug-fix changes, so the official notes remain the source of truth for individual numbers.

What is in beta v0.111.0

The optional beta keeps the earlier keyboard-only control mode and adds new card reworks, including Mirage's 1-cost-at-both-levels Exhaust behavior and Regalite's 4-Block first-creation trigger. It also adds Indonesian localization, low-HP idle animations, interface, multiplayer, enemy, event, performance, and modding fixes.

Beta values are experimental. A card or relic shown in beta notes may still differ from the default main branch, and later beta changes can revert an earlier rework before it reaches everyone.

How to check which version you are using

  • If you never opted into a Steam beta, compare your in-game version with v0.107.1.
  • If you selected the public beta under Steam Properties, compare against v0.111.0.
  • When a guide disagrees with the game, check its branch and date before assuming either set of numbers is current.

How to try the public beta

Right-click Slay the Spire 2 in your Steam Library, open Properties, choose Game Versions & Betas, and select public-beta. Select None in the same menu to return to Main.

See the step-by-step beta branch guide for the full switch-back checklist and the changes that should not be mixed between branches.
