Mirage's Beta v0.111.0 Poison-to-Block effect, upgrade, Exhaust timing, and the version history behind conflicting Slay the Spire 2 tooltips.
Quick answer
In Beta v0.111.0, Mirage is a 1-cost Silent Skill that gains Block equal to the total Poison on all enemies. It costs 1 when upgraded as well: the base card Exhausts, while the upgrade removes Exhaust. Mega Crit reverted the temporary v0.109.0 energy-next-turn redesign, but the v0.110.0 zero-cost upgrade no longer applies.

What does total Poison on all enemies mean?
Mirage reads the combined Poison stacks across every enemy when it is played. If one enemy has 8 Poison and another has 5, Mirage gains 13 Block. This makes area Poison more relevant in multi-enemy fights, while a single target with a large stack can still fund a strong defensive turn.
The card does not apply Poison itself. Draw order therefore matters: Mirage can be weak before Deadly Poison, Haze, Bubble Bubble, or another Poison source has resolved. Artifact can also delay the setup by negating an application, so the printed ceiling is not guaranteed on the turn Mirage is drawn.
Why do some pages show an energy effect?
Beta v0.109.0 temporarily reworked Mirage into a zero-cost Skill that granted 1(2) Energy on the next turn. Mega Crit reversed that design in v0.110.0, restoring the Poison-based Block version and removing Exhaust. Beta v0.111.0 now keeps the 1 Energy cost at both levels: the base card Exhausts, and the upgrade removes Exhaust.
The default main branch and the public beta do not necessarily share the same card text during Early Access. Check the branch label before using a database result, screenshot, or strategy post as a current number.
When is Mirage worth taking?
Mirage is strongest as a conversion card in a deck that already solves Poison application. It turns offensive scaling into defense without consuming those stacks. The base card Exhausts, so the upgraded version is the repeatable form; neither version gets the old zero-cost upgrade.
Skip it when Poison is still hypothetical. A defensive card that depends on a missing package can be a dead draw in the fights where the deck most needs immediate Block. First confirm that Poison is applied reliably, then ask whether the deck needs another payoff or a more independent defensive answer.
