Start Here: Learn Slay the Spire 2
Slay the Spire 2 is a roguelike deckbuilder: climb a changing map, fight through encounters, shape a deck from each run's rewards, and reach the boss. Start by learning the run loop and making the next dangerous fight more likely to succeed—not by copying a tier list.
01
What Slay the Spire 2 is—and what you are trying to do
Slay the Spire 2 is a single-player or online co-op roguelike deckbuilder. You climb through a changing map of combats, events, shops, rest sites, elites, and bosses while turning a small starting deck into a plan that can survive the next test.
The goal of a run is to make it to the top and win the fights that end the climb. Rewards improve the current run, but a death starts a new attempt; the lasting progression is learning how to read threats, routes, cards, relics, and your own mistakes.
Every run gives you a different map, reward pool and set of threats. A copied deck list cannot tell you whether the next elite will kill you, whether one more setup card will clog your opening hand, or whether resting is worth more than an upgrade.
Add damage, Block or consistency that works without waiting for a perfect package.
Let relics, cards and the next boss tell you which synergies are real.
Once the deck passes short fights, add a plan for bosses and other long combats.
02
Use this order
Each step answers a different kind of question. Jump to the one matching the mistake that ended your last run.
Learn what a run contains, how cards move between piles and what each map room buys you.
Build a repeatable turn checklist around intent, incoming damage, draw and sequencing.
Treat HP, gold, potions, upgrades and card rewards as one connected budget.
Identify short-fight, long-fight and multi-target checks without forcing a named archetype.
03
Choose a character by what you want to manage
Character choice is less about finding the strongest roster member and more about choosing the resource system you want to practise.
A forgiving HP economy and direct lessons about damage, Block, Exhaust and Strength.
Draw, discard, Poison and sequencing; strong when you enjoy planning several actions ahead.
Energy plus stored Stars, card creation and a Sovereign Blade that rewards delayed payoff.
Osty, Souls and Doom create several overlapping health and timing decisions.
Orb order, Channel and Evoke timing turn combat into an engine-management puzzle.
04
A better goal for the next run
Do not judge a learning run only by whether it reaches the end. Pick one decision habit and make it visible.
Read every enemy intent and calculate the damage you take if you spend no more Energy on defense.
Say which next fight the card improves. Skip it if the answer is only a hypothetical combo.
Name the first floor where the run lost flexibility, not only the final attack that killed you.
