Necrobinder Osty Guide: HP, Summon Timing and Sacrifice

Treat Osty as a stateful resource. Current HP, Max HP, summon frequency, and the next enemy threat matter separately. Preserving Osty is not always correct; spending him can be the best answer when it prevents lethal or secures a valuable fight.

The player question

When should Necrobinder preserve Osty, invest in him, or spend him?

The job

What this package is trying to solve

Grow the second health bar, spend it on attacks or a decisive Sacrifice, then rebuild it before the next hit. The package is useful only when it answers the fight in front of you; it is not a shopping list that overrides the map, enemy intent, or the cards actually offered.

01

Summon before the attack that would otherwise force a bad HP trade.

02

Use normal Osty attacks before cards that spend or reset him.

03

Track current HP separately from Max HP before choosing Sacrifice or another payoff.

04

Remember that Osty is not a universal answer to direct HP loss or status damage.

Cards and relics to recognize

Core cards

Bodyguard · Unleash · Afterlife · Invoke · Dirge · Reanimate

These are the cards that make the package's central action possible.

Support cards

Sic 'Em · Rattle · Squeeze · Defy · Graveblast

These help the package survive, draw, scale, or bridge into the next fight.

Relics

Bone Flute · Bookmark · Ivory Tile · Bag of Preparation

Relics can change the value of the package, but do not force a plan that cannot solve the next combat.
How a useful turn looks: Summon early, reduce incoming damage, and use Unleash while current HP is high. Play normal Osty attacks before Bone Shards or Sacrifice, then Summon again after spending him.

Commit condition

When should you take more of this?

✓

An extra Summon and a premium Osty payoff are both available.

✓

The deck can restore or resummon Osty after spending him.

✓

Osty's current state actually answers the next combat rather than only improving the end screen.

Protect the run

When should you stop forcing it?

Core failure mode: Treating Osty as ordinary Block. He does not cover most direct HP loss or status damage, and an empty Osty makes later Osty attacks do nothing.

↗

Osty is empty and the deck keeps taking cards that require him.

↗

The route has direct HP or status damage that Osty cannot cover.

↗

Preserving Osty costs more HP than spending him would save.
