Necrobinder Doom Guide: Timing the Last Dangerous Turn

Doom is a timing tool. Strip Artifact when needed, reach the threshold with a plan for the enemy's remaining attack, and keep defending until the execution actually occurs. A doomed enemy can still be dangerous before the trigger resolves.

The player question

How should Necrobinder use Doom instead of merely stacking it?

The job

What this package is trying to solve

Use Weak and Block to buy time, push enemies over the Doom threshold, and bring scaling for bosses that outlive fixed Doom values. The package is useful only when it answers the fight in front of you; it is not a shopping list that overrides the map, enemy intent, or the cards actually offered.

01

Remove Artifact before investing the expensive Doom card.

02

Read the enemy intent after the threshold rather than treating Doom as instant Block.

03

Pair Doom with Death's Door, Shroud, or another defensive bridge.

04

Use Doom to change the route's timing, not as an excuse to stop blocking.

Build the job, not the label

Cards and relics to recognize

Core cards

Scourge · Deathbringer · No Escape · Countdown · Reaper Form

These are the cards that make the package's central action possible.

Support cards

Negative Pulse · Death's Door · Shroud · Sleight of Flesh · Misery

These help the package survive, draw, scale, or bridge into the next fight.

Relics

Book Repair Knife · Undying Sigil · Unsettling Lamp · Bag of Preparation

Relics can change the value of the package, but do not force a plan that cannot solve the next combat.
How a useful turn looks: Strip Artifact with a cheap debuff, then commit the large Doom source. Keep defending after the threshold: normal Doom executes at the end of the enemy turn, not immediately.

Commit condition

When should you take more of this?

✓

A reliable Doom source and a way to survive the delay are both present.

✓

The enemy's remaining attack is understood and covered.

✓

The payoff reaches the threshold without consuming the only defense hand.

Protect the run

When should you stop forcing it?

Core failure mode: Assuming a doomed enemy cannot attack. Without End of Days or enough Block, the deck can meet the kill threshold and still lose before the execution happens.

↗

The enemy can attack before the normal execution timing and there is no Block.

↗

Artifact prevents the main Doom source from landing.

↗

A faster damage card solves the current hallway more reliably.
